Disappointing! There is mention of darkness on a mine exploration forum, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with mines! :(

1980s nuclear / eco paranoia. Widely acclaimed as the best drama the Beeb ever produced; and if you can look past the hair, clothes and cars it really hasn't dated.

Final episode was a bit bonkers. But still had some great lines in it.

Screenplay by Troy Kennedy Martin; music by Eric Clappedout and Willy Nelson. What more could you ask for?

Just ignore the dodgy bit with the - er - lady's intimate device. Bit odd that really.

Shall we start on the "hidden meanings" theories??!

!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!

Most obvious....Ronald Craven was some kind of "eco-prophet/angel" type figure, sent from above to spread the word and save us from ourselves....sacrificing himself in the process. Hence why he then turned into a tree/flower (depending on whether you're reading the book or watching the programme) when his work was done.
Seriously, stay tuned! Do not let the above put you off! It really is an excellent piece of work! :thumbup:
Oh, and the Manod/Gwynfynydd scenes are really nice, if a little spooky.
