DRS have started pulling down Crofty's mill so if you want pictures, then do it soon as they don't hang around. A couple of mechanical metal munchers are at work taking chunks out of the structure. Is this the end? or the beginning of the end? or the end of the beginning. OK the road is coming through and they seem to be getting on with it at a good pace now especially on the west side of the Tuckingmill valley.
No shafts encountered yet, but they still have to pass over the Dolcoath/Harriett section...that will be interesting indeed. ;D

I'll probably be sharing some pub time with Agricola on Thursday eve, so I'll be finding out when and how.
They could possibly take them down with a 'pecker' but as you say, Uncle Alfred would be the better choice. Be good for the camera too

Speaking to DRS a couple of weeks ago, they're intending on munching them down with a high reach machine.

As a structure, there is no easy way of dealing with them, normally if using explosives. you use the explosives to exploit an inherent weakness in the structure - these have no weaknesses - they won't topple like a chimney and they won't fall in on themselves like a cooling tower.

..that would be the "Road to nowhere" ...they haven't built any houses yet and the road plans seem to cut out the section between the crossroads (Dolcoath road) to the Dolcoath lane / lower pengegon junction so it is not accessible??

I am still very curious to find out if the section recently cleared of scrub next to the Harriet / Dolcoath dry is the original slightly raised tramway embankment or earth piled up from the 1980's / 90's "landscaping".. Whatever it is there is some rubble from an old building amongst it.
Is it safe to come out of the bunker yet?

I don't have a schedule for the demolition of the bins. When I spoke last to DRS they couldn't give me a time, however they will be comming down without the use of Uncle Alfred's patent ore bin remover. However it looks like from my recent visit to the area that the last vestages of the table plant will be removed by end of play this afternoon.

The view from the workshop has improved in that we can now see the other side of the valley đŸ˜‰
If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
