Bonkers though monster trucks are always going to be popular...

Hast thou made thine own video yet?

I was looking through that over the weekend.

I might get a couple of minutes out of it - mostly only the bits where I was following Chris and young Rich through the sludge - otherwise there wasn't enough light / the light was too concentrated into a tight spot.

Must have a look for the bit where Chris claimed to have seen a frog swimming around in the ooze, although I might have imagined that bit...

Seems to be a problem with most underground videos, certainly ones I've tried to make. Need to steal JC's lamp!

No it happened, there was a frog.

Or perhaps a piece of mud just fell into the mud.

Speaking of frogs.......there was a live one in Rampgill Level close to Whisky Bottle corner two weeks ago......the water was running in volume after the permafrost had melted, particularly from the Hangingshaw Level. We did wonder how the frog got to this place.

If a light has too tight a spot (which most do as they are torches), then some translucent gel sheet as used in theater lighting can even it out. I was given some, but you should be able to source it somewhere.

Cut a disc - or two - to fit over the torch lens, and it will give a more even lighting.

I'll try to upload a video taken using one, though with a fairly rubbish cam.

I was shown how a cheepo throwaway latex glove stretched over the lens is a good method of diffusing light. I suspect that there are other items a gentleman may or may not have in his wallet that might work equally well though you might get some peculiar looks...

Lens cleaning tissues and a laccy band work well as a diffuser too. Used them on a few model shoots when my 2nd forgot to return things.
