I was meant to be going up to do some site visits etc next week (Mon-Weds).
The 1st was should be Sharnberry (N Penns); the 2nd should be Wanlockhead (S Uplands); and the 3rd should of been Threlkeld (Lakes). I know they are some 'random' sites.

Obviously I'm not local to any of those area so don't know if/how much snow they have all had; and seeing as they are all in upland type terrain they could be more localised conditions.

I would be in a 4x4 (but most of the work is walking around and working in water) but I am also meeting someone coming across from the North East. At the moment I'm looking to postpone the site visits. As anyone got any more local knowledge of these area?

Can only speak for Newcastle/Cleveland but for the last week there's been every kind of weather but sunbathing weather.

Bar an unpredicted change there's probably not much point in planning anything more than a day in advance.

We've had some snow down here and forecast to get some more over the next week, but forecasts have been a bit hit or miss. Which is why I'm leaving to last minute and get some proper indications and not the signs of doom from the news -
I was planning to set off tomorrow thus decision is for tomorrow morning

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
