It was certainly very, very different seeing the mine by lantern and candle light - now I understand why miners were quite happy to climb down a couple of hundred feet, they couldn't see more than ten feet down! I'm looking forward to seeing the photos, including the headless hound of Alderley Edge! :lol:

Maybe we should do one up at Nent one time, then I can bring a pony, since we own the authentic breed for tramming a North Pennine mine!

I'm still finding bits of wax on the dog..... 😢

There are bigger risks than "squeezes and water" in such close proximity to Barnard Castle. What's a cross between a Unicorn and a Pony called then?
