It's nearly a year since the last Victorian themed trip! How did that happen?

Anyway, are people up for a Victorian themed trip in January again?

Unfortunately we've lost our fire eater. He's away for 6 months doing good deeds abroad.

A few photos from last year's in case you missed it!

Was fire eating popular in the Victorian era?

Where does one buy the cloths?
Pity there aren't many? mobile wagons in Cwmorthin you could push around like in that other old fashioned shoot many years ago.

Clothes are best bought from charity shops, then hunt eBay for the accessories like bowler hats, flat caps, oil lamps.....false beards and sideboards etc.....

Plenty of photo oppottunities in Cwmorthin

Blists Hill chippy is the best fish&chips anywhere! Me and the missus have annual passes to the IBGMT museums... don't tell her, but the only reason I shell out for them is so that I can go to the chip-shop whenever I want 🙂

We used to go to Blist Hill quite regular at one tim, brilliant place. If you look in the window of the lange grocer shop you will see all kinds of lard that you can buy.
Have a good weekend 😉

I am already with beard, which is very useful as I look about 25 apparently. I might need to adapt mine to Victorian standards though. Would enjoy coming if this is an open event, I did promice I'd get to Wales in Jan at last :)

Quote: I wouldn't mind getting some shots of people actually pretending to be mining, e.g. pushing a wagon or something, that would be fun for everyone but I guess lack of them in Cwmorthin which can be pushed around lol.

We need to come up with a date. We did January last year, and were very lucky with the weather. Or should we wait until a bit later in the spring?

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
