Ooooh - to be described as antiquarian and collectable!!! 😮 😮

The first edition - now that's maybe different...

Obviously one of the bidders (with feedback of 24) doesn't know that putting bids on an item so soon and against another bidder when he makes a bid, just puts the end bid up so much higher.

I had fun with someone the other week. He put 3 bids on (no other bidders even!) soon after auction opened. So out of fun I put a bid on and it went up but I was still below his lowest bid. I repeated this a couple of times and same result. I knew he would put more bids on (and he did). I knew I wasn't in any danger of winning. Kept me amused for a few minutes! (yes, I know, it doesn't take much!)

Bidding on one's own item. Sounds illegal to me. 😮

It wasn't my own item, nor do I even know who the seller was Tony! I was just having a bit of fun (at the buyer's expence!).

This is why I stick to "Buy it now"......or just fire in a bid in the last 10 seconds, hit "enter" and go for a cuppa! Then come back and see what I got

And you wouldn't do anything like that would you? Now to reprinting the book what do you reckon? Get some good quality copies better than the ones you did of the first edition?

I wish people would read what I actually said in the original post, not what they think I said!

Apologies to Mike due here. I read it that he was having a go at me. I was mistaken there. Sorry Mike.

On a more serious note...

I'm aware that the publisher is reluctant to undertake another print run, but I suspect there might be sufficient demand, especially if the book were to be supplemented by an expanded set of new photographs?

I did offer to pay to pay for a new print run as there is certainly a demand but understand there is a problem with the original plates.

As for the first edition I understand there were a number of photocopies knocking about from an unknown source? Not pointing fingers you understand

Presumably any new edition would be digitally created, particularly if the photographs were replaced - thus I can't see a problem if the old plates are indeed problematic.

Obviously any decision would rest with the publisher and the author who - I suspect - has got a lot of things that are more pressing that updating the Cwmorthin book 😉

Yes, I think the author has, as well as one other of the publishing team! I can't wait for the results of both endeavours!
