Sometime ago various makes of SDS battery drill were discussed. Since then the De Walt DW 005 has been completely flooded on 4 ocassions when the seal packed up on the waterproof case it was in but. It worked immediately the water was poured out.

Regrettably last weekend Avalanche Ashby managed to drop it when bolting at the top of a stope so that it fell about 30' onto a ledge at which point the battery was ripped off which then fell another 50' onto some large rocks. I was amazed that the battery was undamaged and that the drill still works although the spindle is bent - it still drills holes but just shakes your arm off. Not bad for 7 years hard use underground. Have ordered another De Walt which can use the same batteries and charger.
