I have a copy of article from "Quarrying and Roadmaking" magazine from January 1931 which refers to another article in the same issue which I would like to read.

The usual internet searches have failed to find any references to this journal. Where I might find a copy to refer to or have a photocopy made of the article is therefore even more obscure.

Can anyone help please?

I take it you've turned up a blank with the British Library?

I hadn't tried there. I did and do have the issue I want. Thanks for the suggestion.

I had a look at the BL website and ordering a publication looks a bit daunting. Has anyone got any tips on what to do?

You should be able to get hold of BL stuff through local libraries, they can request loan of the relevant item on your behalf. I think it's also possible to get the BL to copy you an article out of a journal they hold, though they'll probably expect you to pay handsomely for the trouble of getting one of their staff use a photocopier....

I popped into the local library yesterday to ask them to borrow the relevant magazine for me. Unfortunately, it's their view that the BL will not lend them magazines, only supply an expensive photocopy if I can give them the article title and page number(s). These I don't have.

The only reference is in an article photocopied from the January 1931 issue in the article "The Penrhyn Slate Quarries" which states that there is an article on Fullersite "elsewhere in this issue".

Looks like I'll have to give my freedom pass some exercise and go up to St Pancras.
