This photograph does NOT belong to Gupta nor does the copyright. I took the original image in 1984 and have the negatives to proof that fact.
The image is displayed on my own website.. www.hemingfield.co.uk where this was no doubt copied from. I will expect this situation to be rectified or I will take steps to prosecute those responsible for Breach of Copyright.

Thank you for pointing that out to me.

The image has been permanently deleted from the web site.

AditNow is a web site of nearly 7,000 members and over 50,000 images. It's run by volunteers and we don't have the resources to check copyright validity on each uploaded photos.

If a copyright infringement occurs then 99.9% of the time it's not deliberate on the part of the person who uploaded it - most folk are simply trying to help by building up the database of mining exploration and history photographs. I don't think anybody intentionally goes out to rip anybody off.

I have emailed you and hope this is to your satisfaction.

Thank you Simon. I appreciate your prompt action.
The member who breached my copyright knew exactly what they were doing as my website has a prominent notice stating that images are copyrighted and must not be copied etc.
However they may just have learnt a valuable lesson.
Some folk do make me wonder.

I will probably reload the image and others myself at some point. I started my working life at Cortonwood in 1960.

You'd be very welcome to upload any similar images if you wish. They'd be well received I'm sure - and of course would you your own copyright message and member name watermarked across them!
