Does any one know what happened to the Blackett Drilling rigs which were scrapped from Irthlingborough Mine in 1966. I understand from the scrap merchant that they were sold, soon after, to another mine but he has no recollection of the name of the mine. I would think it would be a small private affair & not in Northamptonshire. There were no mines open by that date. I'll post a picture of one for help - perhaps somebody has seen one in an old working. They don't rot away.
