Pasing through Camborne from Beacon yesterday at 2.30 and as I reached the level crossing at Camborne station this is what greeted me. Grabbed the camera, threw the car up on the pavement and legged it onto the platform. What a sight and double headed into the bargain. Made my day!

Is there any way of finding out when these steam trains come down? I have tried the Bodmin and wenford site, but does that cover all the steam trains on the cornish mainline?
It seems some know when they are coming as they gather at bridges etc.

Here's the steam programme on the mainline for 2009 http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs09.htm . You just need to search through and work out which ones would pass through your area.

Saw/heard this beauty go past my house. You can't beat that smell and the smoke when they go past, the whistle is great too!

I believe Stanier borrowed a Swindon dog and after a bit of breeding came up with a pedigree version that barked properly 😉
So much so they barked to the bitter end in Aug 68, longer than the standard dogs in fact .... :lol:
Just joking .....Oh gods I shouldn't have said that....

Well in for a penny- As for Southern stuff I went for a ride on Sir Lame... I mean sir Lamiel though my the former is more appropriate! :zzz:
