Hello,
Does anyone know of any sources of cheap, or reasonably priced, underground equipment? I'm looking for a new helmet, knee pads and possibly jacket or oversuit. I'm a student so the lower the price the better!
Cheers!
Chris

No underground gear is "cheap" new as far as I'm aware.
I get most of my new gear from Inglesport
http://www.inglesport.co.uk
although it's not exactly cheap, they tend to do you a discount if you're buying a lot...
The other place worth looking is ebay, in the climbing/ mountaineering- caving/ potholing
I've mannaged to pick up some really good deals on 2nd hand gear (though I wouldn't buy 2nd hand srt gear)

I've used Caving Supplies a bit, prices are reasonable, and I've always had first class service from them.

Amazingly bombproof camo waterproof overalls at your local military surplus place. Everything from a good strong overall to the ultimate radiation/chemical suit.....
I'm a big fan of surplus

You should also check out Bernies in Ingleton - its worth checking Inglesport next door and see who will give the best deal. They both have cafe's so it can be a pleasant afternoon.
I used to reccommend caving Supplies everytime but they are closed on Sundays which is unhelpful if you have made a trip to Derbyshire. You are unlikely to get a discount but advice is always very sound.

Aldi, Lidell, car boot, building site. Plenty of good helmets on the latter 😉

I had a look at the site it says stuff is only available to order - nothing wrong with that but I like to try, feel and have advice.
In fact reading your email - Beaver products sold by Bernies are probably going to be best value.
