A fire burning for over 50 years has finally been extinguished.
Another is still going after 140 years! Constructive comment is not easy.

That's an impressive time for a fire to burn, and the CO2 outputs surely puts the tax on 4x4s into perspective!

The longest running coal mine fire I'd heard of before is Centralia, Pensylvania - which has been burning since 1962

As far as CO2 is concerned we should have instigated a nuclear policy years ago or at the very least invested in the Severn Barrage. The amount of woffle involving both these subjects is beyond belief. 😉
