I'm being thick as usual. Can anyone advise me how to add other PDF docs to an original PDF doc so that the pages are sequential. Adobe 7.0. A PM message will suffice. :surrender:

I think I may have the same problem!
What's the answer, please? :surrender:

If you click on Import, a window pops up asking whether it is a new document or (if you have a pdf already loaded) append to existing pdf.

Ahhh.. To merge 2 existing PDF files ? A quick web search reveals various programs, with a bit of time I dare you even locate a free one !

Yes, if I understand correctly.
I have scanned a 12 page document relating to Penrhyn. I now have 12 PDF files which I would like to all be in one file to be read as one, 12 page document. It might also make it easier to upload and read!

It sounds like an error in the scanning process. When I scan a multi page doc I select 'next' for each successive page and 'done' when I have finished. That then produces a single file.

Point taken, thanks. I've been scanning in Auto. I'll go to manual and see if that allows multi-page scanning to one file.

Now I'm quite confused which is not that unusual. If I click on combine files of an existing PDF doc a window pops up asking me to imput, in order, the files I want to add, including other PDF files. It then creates a new PDF doc. with them all in. I take it I'm missing something.
As for scanning straight to Adobe it should ask anymore pages.

Cant you just copy and paste everything into a new pdf?

Thanks for the suggestion, Clunk! I'm not very IT savvy so I've just had my daughter on the case! No! Can't be done.
I've played about with the scanner in manual mode and it always creates seperate files, allowing nothing else.
The seperate files can be dragged/opened in Acrobat8 but it's not quite the same as viewing it as one document. If uploaded I assume it will remain as 12 disparate pages/documents!
Thanks for the help. I suspect it's the scanner software- (Epson 2400/Twain) that's the root cause.
And yes, I know about Macs and Linux!! Cheers!

Look you lot
Why dont you scan to jpg, create a Microsoft Word document, type in what text you want to include, or as alternative, scan and OCR to Word your text from the original, insert your image files, and then convert to pdf using your pirate copy of Adobe Acrobat writer?
Appart from anything else you will get a much better result and a much lighter file.

Hi,
Try using Open Office link here (http://www.openoffice.org/)
It's free for personal use and it has the facility to "export as .pdf". You can scan all of your pages into one document and the let OO convert it to pdf. If you already have a pdf document it should be possible to copy and paste as Clunk suggested. What royfellows suggests makes great sense, it's just that you may find a single program that does everything easier.
Best of luck anyway.
