The book has recently fallen out of print - sorting my garage I discovered a box I had forgotten about and these are now available. Publisher summary below

Devon Great Consols: A Mine of Mines, by R J Stewart, 2013 435 pages Paperback £24.99 + P&P ?For almost 50 years the history of the Devon Great Consolidated Mines was regarded as one of the great gaps in British mining history. The story of Devon Great Consols can truly be described as epic in the true sense of that overused word. For at least 20 years it was the largest copper mine in Europe producing staggering wealth for its shareholders and for the landowners, successive Dukes of Bedford. For the latter, however, ‘the royalties were never regarded as sufficient compensation for the loss of 140 acres of pheasant coverts’. As the copper ran out DGC had a second life as the producer of half the world’s arsenic. All this can be found in Rick Stewart’s massive history along with coverage of the labour unrest and the mine’s doomed attempt to emulate the great Dolcoath Mine and discover tin at depth below the copper. On closure the mine site was cleared within the terms of the lease and almost nothing of DGC survives at Blanchdown Wood but this book at last does justice to this fabulous ‘mine of mines’.

If you want a copy this may well be your last chance - The distributer doesn't have any more copies and I am down to my last half dozen or so.

At the present time there are no plans for a reprint.

If anyone has a spare sleeve going that would be good as mine had a bit of an accident. It did it's job of protecting the book very well though.

Top marks for coffee resistance

I'm not having a bookstand at NAMHO this year transport costs make it unviable, I'm sharing my motor with 2 others so can take a few pre ordered books if anyone wants anything. I will pack a copy for you

I will be at the Friday and Saturday part of the event

Thanks Mike

Happy to pay in advance by Paypal if that helps (couldn't see the option to do that without P&P on your site)

I don't understand why that would happen was it 3 Devon Great Consols or 2 other books occasionally when I place books on line and provide the weight I have inputted incorrectly and the decimal point is in the wrong place - send a pm with the details and I will sort

The lack of a reprint is a real pain. Someone posted about the book on a local facebook page and I've had half a dozen requests today!

As I am the copyright holder I am considering doing a reprint off my own back (don't hold your breaths tho).

What is still available is "The Notebook of a Devon Great Consols Mine Captain" by myself and Bob Waterhouse. Mike Moore should have copies. It is a fantastic book and guaranteed to raise your ancestors from the dead and all for £11.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
