Harriet, if you look here:
http://www.aditnow.co.uk/mines/Wynne-Slate-Mine/

You will find my version of the history, written a little earlier than Chris's which you can download and print for free. As well as look at some of my photos from when the mine was open to the public.

For sale on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270236072370&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=017

Llawlyfr Gloddfa Ganol Ffestiniog Mountain Tourist Center Guide ND [1994?] no author, 16 pp, 7 colour photos, 8 B&W illus. SB VG

and

a red ticket 3½ inches square dated 24.8.94.

I think the ticket is worth more than the book, but I do not have the patience to put them on Ebay separately. The slate mine is no longer open to the public which make this book something of a collectors’ item.

I've uploaded a scan of the earlier one here:
http://www.aditnow.co.uk/documents/Oakeley-Slate-Mine/GG_Guide.pdf
But I doubt there's much difference - we never really got round to re-writing it significantly - though we did intend to.

Hi

My local charity bookshop rang me this morning to say they have a copy of WT Shaw Mining in the Lake Counties in (Dalesman 1970)
I bought it for 99p. It is clean inside, but there is a patch the size of a penny on the cover, where someone has unstuck a label, pulling off the black.
If anyone wants it at what I paid, plus postage, they are welcome. (I already have a copy, but couldn't let it go at that price)
Otherwise, I'll put it on Fleabay.
Where there's a mine or a hole in the ground.
That's where I'm heading for that's where I'm bound
So follow me down Cousin Jack
(Grateful thanks to Show of Hands)
