A new event has been added to the Events page.

Event name: Deep Ecton/Clayton Mines

Date and time: 07/05/2017 / 10am

Details: Deep Ecton/Clayton Mines

Requirements for the trip are that everyone signs an indemnity form before going underground and that a donation to the Ecton Mines Trust is made - £5.00 per person is suggested. Standard underground kit is required, no SRT.

The meeting place is the parking area by the old creamery at Ecton, 10.00 start

Hi, been working out my 2017 underground itinerary... Got Apedale and Alderley Edge sorted. I assume no booking on this, just turn up at 10am? Are 15year olds ok on it?

Hi BertyBasset, please book onto the trip in the same way as all others- so we know what numbers to expect. I'll check about under 18s and let you know...

I don't think you can add another person, they'd need to be registered themselves.

Under 18s are fine, though there's a different form needed for them to go underground - I've not currently got a copy so I'll get hold of it and upload it.

For over 18s, this is the form you need to fill in:

Sorry about that, there is no facility for +1 I'm afraid. Only workaround is (as already suggested I know) for the additional person to register. Or contact the event organiser and see if they mind an extra body over the stated maximum?

Quick bump on this trip, and can I remind everyone that it'll speed things up on the day if the forms are filled in beforehand -

I've checked with the trust and this form can also be used for under 18s, it just needs countersigning by the accompanying parent/guardian.

Quick reminder for tomorrow, please could everyone attending print out and sign the indemnity form in advance. Depending on what people want to do we can do a fairly quick Deep Ecton trip, have lunch then do Clayton or a more leisurely Deep Ecton Trip, then either a walk on the hill or go over the river to Limepits/Hollybank.

Please be aware there's no mobile reception in the Manifold valley, and if you do need to drop out could you either PM me or post on this thread. Otherwise, see you all around 10.00 tomorrow.

You're welcome, and apologies to everyone for forgetting to take you up into the Clayton Pipe on the way out - going down the Bag Level to the far end and back does that to you!

As mentioned, I'm happy to organise further trips at a later date if there's interest.
