A new event has been added to the Events page.

Event name: Victorian Costume Trip 2015

Date & time: 25/04/2015 at 10:00

Details: The ever popular Victorian costume trip makes its annual appearance.

We're shifting it to Wrysgan this year it'll be much easier to get the food, water and cooking equipment to somewhere where we can comfortably sit.

What you need:

• An oil/paraffin lamp (available cheaply from e-bay!)
• A Victorian costume (see Cwmorthin user album for costume ideas)
• Possibly a back up light (i.e. a candle!)

Lunch will be provided, however if you would like to bring along any additions they’d be very welcome (port, welshcakes …)

Please PM Rockchick and let me know if you’re vegetarian or have any other dietary requirements.

This is a relatively short and easy trip, so please feel free to bring along people we don’t normally see!

Please note: this is a Victorian costume trip, LED lights did not exist, so we won’t be using ‘em!

Clive, thank you that would be wonderful! Blobber- that's why we went for a return to Cwmorthin rather than somewhere else, because we were hoping for the train again. I am debating seeing if there's somewhere easier to get to while carrying large quantities of food though... 😞

Sorry folks, I’m not trying to be difficult by not moving the date, we did that last year and then folks who could make the original date found they got caught out instead. Seems fairer to me all round to pick one date and stick with it, so that’s what I’m doing.
I really hope those who can’t make this year can make next!

Hope no one minds if I update this! :-[

After extensive board meetings, the venue has now changed to Wrysgan, this will be much easier for all involved (lugging of all the cooking equipment!) and more time to mill around and take photos.

So don't be afraid, no going down man ways with a candle this year ::):lol:

Well reminded sir! I've edited the event to move it to Wrysgan, and edited the original post in this thread so it's clear it's in Wrysgan.

Wrysgan will be a great venue.

And the Thursday Nighters will be setting up some benches in advance 🙂

I've just noticed that the last down train on 25 April leaves Tanygrisiau at about 15:10. Is this going to give us enough time for a return train trip as well as lunch?

Showed this event to my son who has been down Cwmorthin with me recently and he's already started growing a fine Victorian moustache looks like you have two more attendees all being well.
