Just my opinion but I think that the whole adventure side of mine exploring is very appealing, I don't know how to break this down further but to me, large underground spaces are simply beautiful.
The trouble happens when people make assumptions or try to make something into something that it isn't, in this case assuming that just because Croesor-Rhosydd hasn't claimed any lives yet, means that it's safe, and an easy going trip for anyone. I think this is a vaguely the same principle as my latest studies on tsunamies, people build in such areas assuming that it will be ok.
I know what you mean by the whole lightpainting thing. I love doing creative things with light but I suppose messing with lights attracts more people than industrial archaeology (people who respect the mine) so whilst mine explorers can be artists, artists with light may not always respect the mine, but that's not to say all of them by any means.
Bout this Moel Fferna trip, assuming I can get there alright, would I be alright 'attempting' to photograph some of these huge pillars in the chambers? Wouldn't take long. Also having someone posing near them would be good 😛 🙂
jeg elsker Norge, landets dialekter, folk, landskap og naturen!
