Planning stage only at the moment...

Last year's summer 3 day meet was a big success (as was the year before...), and was pretty much agreed we'd do it again.

Basing it on the 1st weekend in July, it's before the school holidays so camp sites etc. should be quiet, but the weather should be OK.

Planning stage only at persent:

Ideas / preferences for:

- Areas - whether to base ourselves at Blaenau (same campsite as usual), or base it in Corris (excellent bunkhouse) or somewhere inbetween (e.g. Dolgellau)

- Trip preference - idea of all slate was mooted (by our hardy Northern explorers who were quite taken by the possibility of a) standing up all day and b) not getting wet), or a mix, all SRT or a mix

- Whether to make it 4 days or stick to 3

Stacks of time to get things sorted, so hopefully we can make it a good one.

Proposed dates:

Friday 6th / Saturday 7th / Sunday 8th July

Any problems with the date, particularly for those travelling from afar, and we'll change it to suit.

What about LLanberis for a change? Has a bit more about it than Maentwrog!

Trips - back to Dinorwic certainly if we get a day anything like the Sunday last year.
As for the rest, lots of water, SRT and dodgy ground this time for a change?

Water? Aye, if you say so!

There's a good Indian in Llanberis

Is there now? That hadn't occurred to me. ::)

Next you'll be telling me there's a pub and somewhere that does fry-up!

Summer meet, excellent :)

Three days good, four days better (if there's demand).

If we're going back to Dinorwic for a day I could check out the full snakes and ladders route in advance and see what that entails?

WIll have a look at camp sites around Llanberis if you like, agree Maentwrog is in the sticks a bit.

Only problem with Llanberis is it's 45 minutes from Blaenau and 45 minutes further from anywhere further south :(

But it has more pubs...

Close to the Little Chef outside town, also has a bunkhouse.

Get it crossed off man!

RJV's suggestion of camping in Llanberis... I've just realised this is a cunning ploy to spend the entire weekend in Llanberis eating icecream and having a gentle wander around Dinorwic.

Nice try

OK, I've added it to the events calendar now.

We've got nearly three months to choose a camp site and some trips. Even I might manage that

That's the one Dark Places has used a couple of times for the Big Bash I think.

It's a very good camp site and they let you light fire

Bit of a trek to the pub though 😢

Maybe we should do a calendar for people to write the dates of trips on 🙂

Yeah ... and you could have photos of mines on it as well! What a good idea! ;D

Will you be bringing the bbq you bought off Vanoord last year?
