I have arranged a trip to the South Wales Miners Museum at the Afan Country Park. Sunday 13th March, 2011 at 10.15 for 10.30 am. Bring a camera, there is plenty to see. All welcome, Croeso i bawb.

It will only take an hour or so, to go around the Museum and the outside exhibits. So only pay for an hours parking.

I have managed to make arrangement to visit Great Western Colliery / Hetty Pit in the afternoon.

If there is time we can go across the road to Lewis Merthyr Colliery. Now know as Rhondda Heritage Park.

Access at Great Western is a little tricky. Up a flight of steps, but Matty has willingly volunteered to carry me up there.

I am told on ME that photographie ist Verboten in den Museum. So, no Hasselblads with telephoto lenses, just phone cameras and other small digital cameras.

I have a tow bar on the electric scooter, so I will bring the trailer along as well. It is the one I use to take the pigs to the market. What the smell you ask? No problem, the pigs will get used to it.
