Thanks for setting the trip up Colonel, excellent to see trips outside of North Wales.

I think I'm right in saying this is a relatively rare opportunity as the route has been rigged? And having been on one of the Colonel's Coniston trips before I can definitely recommend a visit.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Just out of interest Colonel, where does this route start/finish & what is the vertical distance decended (or ascended!).

I have done the Levers Water to Hospital Level through trip, how does this compare :flowers:

I think it very unlikely that you have been in Levers Water mine as it is gated & locked. There is a route possible from Levers Water Mine but it has been many years since it was done and would certainly need re-bolting.

The usual route is to enter the funnel (not to be confused with the crater) which is almost certainly the route you have done Jimbo, and the route we are doing on Saturday.

Cheers Colonel, I meant that general area rather than the actual mine (I know it's gated).

Looking into the 'funnel' at the Back Strings with the entrance to Levers Water Mine below & to the right (& Levers water behind you) we entered the narrow slot on the far left climbed up (past the obligatory dead sheep) & came to the first short ladder pitch with a hand line in place, the rest you know doubt know. Is this the route you are planning to do on Saturday?

Where abouts is this my good man & will it be on the cards for Saturday πŸ˜‰

I wouldn't mind doing the trip again, but I doubt I can make it, tempt me

I've seen that tub, but I wouldn't have a clue how to get back there I'm afraid! Annoyed I can't make this weekend; anybody who is even remotely interested in Coniston will find one of the Colonel's trips a fantastic day out.

Aye.... its a bit off the beaten track
We may go on Saturday or maybe not as there are a couple of other 'interesting' things that we are going to be investigating πŸ˜‰

I should mention that a few non AditNow people are coming on this trip so the trip is now fully booked up. there will be others at some point in the future though, perhaps one of the alternative 'more adventurous' routes through the system πŸ™‚

Sorry to take the thread slightly OT but whats the current situation with the Flemings Level to Taylors level through trip at the minute?
I fancy doing it over the winter...will i need my bolting kit or are there still spits in place for 8mm hangers?

Second simons go if you can. The trip we did with the colonel was BRILLIANT.
I reckon I can remember how to get to that tub though due to it being one of the scariest moments of my life!
Still anyone thinking about going GO you will have a brilliant day!

Thanks for that MP, the route we did on your trip was not the usual one though and involved more SRT work but glad you enjoyed it.

Fantastic trip Colonel, many thanks for organising it!
There is so much to see in there it wont be long before we're back I'm sure.

The blue mud was quite a novelty, almost a shame to wash it all off.
