Over the past few days I have noticed that a lot of web pages have added the option of a dark theme, I suppose this is summat to do with reducing screen glare whilst we work from home.

Do "Da Management" and the rest of us think that this should be a frorum option?

(If I'm being a dunce and it here already could somebody please point it out to me!)

I recommend dowloading f-lux to change the screen colour etc according to preferences. Window10 actually has this feature built in. Look under display settings.

I had a look at the 'Night Light' option in Windows 10 and I considered it so red and so dark as to be unusable, and my monitor is too bright above 40%. My problem is that if accurate colour judgment needs to be made (like outputting images or print documents), using a calibrated monitor and/or printer is essential. If the monitor's colour balance is changing in real-time (as that seems to be what f-lux is offering), whilst maybe great for general reading it would be a nightmare for reliable proofing and output. Unless I'm missing something important?

The only reason I use it is to stop migraines and eyestrain. It works fine in that regard. I have the screen permanently on dusk setting - you can make the settings stay the same 24 hours a day.

Is this an April Fool wind-up?

If not, then I suggest we all go back to Oldham lamps instead of Fellow's bat cookers and everything will seem much darker....
