Just out of interest, I always use the A-Z index.
Others have posted this and the reason is possibly because it is the most obvious.
My avatar is a poor likeness.

Never used it myself! I just tend to stick an approximate spelling into the mine name box tick 'sounds like' and hope for the best

That is exactly what I do!

I even use Mine Search to go to a mine I know, seems to be the quickest way to be honest. For instance, Maen Offeren, (yes I do look that up quite freqently!) I just type in Maen and go from there.

I really hope you aren't going to get rid of that facility. Reading your other thread seems (it is late!) to imply that you are. Or have I misread it?

No, no! I'm not going to remove it, in fact I'm intending on improving it with a Google style auto-complete.

I tend to use the search by OS Landranger sheet. Unfortunately not all sites have had their NGR entered correctly, if I can't find what I'm looking for then I go to Major Mining Region, then A-Z.
Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
