Couple of thoughts...

In the album, where it says "This photograph, **Name**, was taken by **user**." should it perhaps say "uploaded by" - in the case of some of the archive pics I think it might make Grahami at least 110 years old if he'd taken the photographs himself :o

Secondly, would there be any easy way of notifying that photos have been rated? For example, I've rated this one http://www.aditnow.co.uk/photo/Cambokeels-Lead-Mine-User-Album-Image-005  by sparty_lea, but s/he might not notice the comment on the homepage.

Perhaps sending an email for each rating would be a pain in the proverbial, but I wonder if there's an easier way, for example a link on the homepage saying 'X new album comments'?

And, um, thirdly, is there any way album comments could have a user name appended?

Vanoord backs away, bowing and grovelling for potentially using up more of your esteemed time. 😞

I agree - but I can see that perhaps we need to have some ways of saying uploaded by AND/OR taken by - maybe a radio button or similar ???

Runs away even faster than Vanoord!

Just another thought (for future reference) on the home page the image shown for an album is always the very first one which was put in it - how about displaying the last picture to be put in it ? After all, that's the reason the album is showing as "updated" isn't it ?

The ability to upload more then one picture into an album at once then edit them after would be nice.

I'm getting out of the way.. I suspect that suggestion may require a lot of work!

Well think about it.
at the moment its.... Upload, edit, upload, edit, upload, edit.
I think it would be nice to uuppllooaadd then edit. Especially if they are going to the same album.

A batch upload could be provided, but it's not been asked for before so it's not going to be high on the list.

I'm taking a spell away from working on new features now anyhow, to concentrate on doing a bit of promotion for the site and build up the members and content.

In about 6 weeks or so I'll look at new features again, but I'd rather not come back to a massive, massive list please. I can't help thinking the site has enough functionality to keep people amused for a while :)

When I'm ready to work on new features again I'll look at the list and see what has been requested. Some like Grahami's suggestion of changing the album image are quite straightfoward and might take an hour or so, the batch image upload could quite easily take a full day.

Personally, I can't see any advantage or disdavantage in either way of doing it. To me it would seem easier to upload a phot then edit it neccesary before going onto next one (not that I have uploaded many yet).

The idea of updated albums on the home page showing the latest photo seems a good idea.

But I think these are all minor issues on what has become an excellent, all encompassing versatile website.

Well that's two people who like the site then 🙂 Thanks chaps

I'll be back putting new features on in the not too distant future, and obviously I'll be doing any bug fixes, admin, minor tweaks, etc etc as normal in the meantime.

On the subject of Bugs though. I have one, I have seen my GP but he couldn't help!

No seriously, I do have one odd thing that happens on this site. When I go to a photo in an album (any ablbum) when the page opens it shows all the normal headers, title etc etc, then there is a big gap (have to scroll down several screens worth) before the photo appears. If I press refresh, or hit F5 the page refreshes with the photo correctly displayed just under all the headings. It doesn't go wrong every time but I would guess about 80%.

I am using WinXP SP2, and IE 6.

Funny you should say that. When viewing the forums with opera, the posts fill from the bottom. This also happens in the forum index's. still in the right order but instead of being fixed at the top, they are fixed to the bottom. That don't sound right does it?

Noted...

But can you upload a picture in the normal way first before demanding a new one

NOI!

Seriously, the calendar and a few remaining tweaks and fixes are going to keep my spare time occupied for a good few weeks. In about 6 weeks time I'll be adding new features again, and I'll look at batch imports then.

I'm beginning work on a wireless system where AditNow can take photos direct from your computers based on neural impulses... you see the photo you want to upload and my internationally patented system detects that and transmits it using microwaves generated by a transponder embedded in each member...
