Fixed a problem with the forum preventing new topics being posted by some users.

Thanks to LAP for pointing it out.

I still get a million e mails every time a topic is replied too!

Yes, well.. as the premier Mine Exploration site in the country, I spend most of my internet time on thgis site, so I really dont need any notifications. Is there a global switch off for those things ? I know its easy enough to unsubscribe with the link though 😉

Should only get one? The code resets the 'alert me' switch, and it's only set back again when you re-visit the topic.

Is it not working like that for people?

If I forget to untick the "notify me..." box, I wil get an email. If on subsequent posts to the same thread I do remember to untick the box, I still get a notification unless I unsubscribe. 🙂

Ah yes, maybe I need to have another look at that bit.

But does it function correctly in that, say you've posted to a thread, and then 10 replies get added - you should only get 1 notification, rather than 10 separate ones. That's certainly what it's supposed to do and what the code says...

Good, good, I know I broke it once, and it sent a message for every single reply which annoyed people - but I'm quite sure that it is working correctly now (and has been for some time).

I'll have a look in the near future at the 'notify me when a reply is posted' option when you post a message.

Indeed it does that, Mr RL. It does not bombard me with 23 emails to say the same thread has been updated, unlike some other fori. And for that I salute you. Oh yes. :thumbup:

unfortunately, i like to be different, i still get multiple e mails, i didn't used too after it was fixed, but for the last few weeks i have !

If you've got 5 minutes would you mind doing a similar test to what I did with Nimrod earlier?

If you could start a new topic, any forum will do, and then (important this bit) close your browser window.

I'll then quick fire 10 or 20 replies, and we'll see how many emails you get.
