My dad (Alan Greaves) did his surveyors apprentership at Manor Colliery in Wakefield. Circa 1965-1969ish.
I am making him a memory board displaying all the pits he worked down. As this was his first surveyors job i felt it was an importaint one to get on there. However i cannot find any "memorabilia" from the Manor colliery anywhere.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Im looking for lamp/pay and going down tokens aswell as any old forms/bills or other paperwork with the Manor pit name on them. Anything at all really that will bring back memories.
He later finished his apprentership at Sharlston Colliery in Wakefield, then moved to Prince of Wales, Savile (during the strike), gascoigne wood, walton and allerton bywater.
Thank you for your time, any suggestions of where to hunt would be appreciated.
