Hi
Can anyone recommend a good trip with a nice walk and lots to see and explore, including some underground exploration without getting lost?
Thought of cwmorthin but know you need access for the lock etc..
Please note I am an experienced caver, miner, srt etc after 30 years, just had a long break and getting back into it again, done lots of various mines across North Wales many many years ago but know a lots changed since I was a lad?
With Thanks
Andy

Getting the key for Cwmorthin is very easy. See the Friends of Cwmorthin website. There are also plans on the website you can download.

Catherine and Jane as well. Has some nice remains.
Also Cwm Pennant nearby. Deep Adit at Gilfach, Water wheel at Cwm Cipwrth.
Cwm Bychan worth a wander for the aerial ropeway remains, with some minor workings that can be explored. Also Llwyndu if walking over to Cwm Dinas. In fact, that's a nice circular walk if you head back via Sygun and Aberglaslyn. You've got the stopes behind the cottage near the bridge as well.

Great tips thanks!
Ended up doing a walk round Cwmorthin then up to Rhosydd, took wellies and helmets and took a stroll down no9 adit entrance and practiced some photography in and around the chambers there, didn't venture too far.
It snowed like mad on the walk up! Was fun
Lots more to explore in future thanks to everyone tips
Thanks
