This was taken using the live composite setting on my TG4. Not as fancy as Paul's technique. I just simply left it until it looked Ok while everyone stood still.

This has absolutely no post processing, straight off the camera.

Pondering on this, if you still around Paul, just so I got it right.

First shot with wife was the foundation or pattern for subsequent shots. Wife walked away and this did not print to the frame because there was no new light.
You walk forward with a torch switched off, so again, you dont print as no new light. You hide round corners and paint bits in with the torch. But each time you come out of a corner its not printing you because the torch is off and no new light. I suppose a dim light to see by wont print as its not adding anything to whats already there.

A bit like my way of having several torches and lamps an hiding them behind rocks etc to set my frame up. But Live Composite means you need only carry one torch and its a lot less aggro.

Have I got it right, well more or less?

Roy very clever you have almost got it 100% it took us ages to get it right, yes that particular images was lit with just one video light albeit a nice colour temp one 4750 kelvins. what we do do is I forgot to say, so we are not totally in the dark is just point a low powered old torch back down the opposite way away from the image so we have a little light to see where we are walking, but yes as long as you are darker than the original light exposure you dont get recorded, it really is great fun to do and watch you image being created on the screen so the no viewfinder is not really a issue . Its great at a firework display as well there is a firework shot somewhere on the Olympus website that looks amazing.

Thanks
In the old days I could do similar with a film camera because of reciprocity failure, however a digital camera does not experience this. hence its night shooting possibilities.
