Van's pic has given me an idea for extreme laser lighting for use in photography.
I spent about 15 years working with lasers, and scanner control systems - if you were to get a white light laser, and a XY scan system you could basically illuminate a small or large area very easily, it would be like a very precise form of light painting.
Very interesting - good if you could get Z (depth), then with enough points do away with the camera completely (and use some sort of colour/depth mapping for some very unusual effects).
