Having used this on holiday for a couple of weeks I'm even less sure it's a good underground camera.

For sure it has a lot of mega pixels, manual focus etc. and takes a very nice photo.

But (and setting aside debateable issues like the sensor size which having seen the results I'm less fussed about) my main concern is simply durability.

That lens cover is just too fragile. I had it jam twice just taking holiday snaps, so I'd be hesitant to subject it to much abuse underground.

Afraid the 8400 still rules the roost with it's big chunky plastic case and plastic lens cover 🙂

I think Toadstone's right though that it'd make an excellent KAP camera.

Was there some talk of something from RICOH? I've not been keeping up with the forum over the past 2 weeks and have missed a lot.
