Hi all
Can anyone tell me who the owners of great masson are?
By that i mean the section accessible from the quarry not the touristy bit from Abrahams Heights.

To the best of my knowledge, the Heights own some of the parts nearest them, they choose not to use them in the showcave as they have enough already.
As to the parts nearest the quarry, there is a lot of speculation but no real fact about ownership. When the quarry was last worked by Laporte, they only had a mineral agreement, they didn't own it as I understand it.

The quarry and surrounding fields were put up for auction some years back but didn't sell.

Isn't it a local farmer who owns it? Amazing that land ownership can be so difficult to sort out, when the entire country is divided up into named and numbered parcels.

Shouldn't this be in the Midlands section, BTW?

As said above.
You may be looking at two issues.
Who owns the land.
Who owns the mineral rights.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
