Obviously there would never have been anything of this scale.

I think some of the leat remains at Wanlockhead are believed to be from post-medieval gold working - there was a paper on this in Mining History vol.15 no.4/5, but it's not yet online.

There's remains of diggings on 2 rivers in the Dolgellau goldbelt.
There's also ancient surface diggings from Roman times at Ogofau/Dolaucothi.
Gold is where you find it

HI, I have some old handwritten papers on a pyrite mine in Derbyshire which produced gold. never became a viable venture. :thumbsup:
