Explored Bwlch y Rhiw on Saturday, but couldn't find Craigiau Ladies ; according to Hall, it is approximately 100 metres away going by the six-figure GR. Does anyone have an eight-figure GR for this please?
Did the Nant a'r Nelle (drainage shaft ?) as well, found a small 3cm clay pipe stem, a bit further in from Hall's inscription! It got me thinking about these intrepid miners; who were they, where did they live.....the social history of the rural miners is probably more interesting to me than the geological aspect. A perfect place to be on a very wet Saturday afternoon, up to my thighs in water underground and lashed by driving rain on the mountainsides!
