I don't think it was a Welsh sense of humour that got the Hathorn Davey engine re-assembled incorrectly. There it sits, as ICLOK's pictures show, on its sterile plinth on the site of Marine Colliery, with a link off the crosshead fitted the wrong way round. The other links to the differential gear on top of the engine look so ungainly I laugh every time I see it.
