Yes and no.

It's three different stories, but there are undying themes that run throughout.

As someone else has said there are underlying themes and the first episode is very much connected to the final episode and Devils Bridge / Hafod Hotel at Devil's Bridge features.

I just wish they would make one more series to explore things after they arrested Superintendent Prosser and perhaps tie up Inspector Mathias' loose ends.

Anyway you should enjoy it - fantastic series - better watched in Welsh with English subtitles for a bit more atmosphere.

Nearly got to the end of this now guys ( Hinterland ) good but we enjoyed Hidden more so we would prefer a third series of that as opposed to a fourth Hinterland

OR what about a combined drama and call it " Hiddenland" set in a even more remote spot in Wales !

Also, some of the world famous Thursday Nighters will be making their TV debut as "headlights in the distance" in later episodes I hope 😃

THE Hidden Wales
Just had an email from Frank Films advising that a new series starts on 4th September 7.30 BBC1 Wales, the flyer shows what is obviously Parry's Mountain.
I was a whole day with them at Cwmystwyth for 5 minutes in the 2nd Episode of the first series, so felt all along they were holding something back. We shall see.

The viaduct at the end looks very much like Cwm Prysor - anyone agree?

A quick Google of "hidden viaduct location" pops up Cwm Prysor Viaduct.

Indeed, I spent a whole day taking a sink in and out of a lab bench for a BBC documentary a while ago, absolutely none of the footage made it into the finished product.

More recently I spent a whole day machine gunning WW1 stormtroopers from the inside of a tank with a Lewis gun. about 30 seconds of that made it into a programme shown on BBC Four, no fame and fortune for me though as all you could see was some muzzle flash coming out of the port

What annoys me with a lot of filming/production companies is they expect you to take a day off work with no mention of payment for your contribution and they end up hardly using any of the footage.

For what its worth (which may not be much with the current virus situation) 'The Movie Database' has this series status listed as "continuing". Presumably a Series 3 has been at least considered and may possibly appear sometime in the next two or three years.
