Back to slate this week for a change. ;D
The Thursday Nighters are heading into Wrysgan for the evening. This is mostly on foot but bring SRT kit if you fancy dangling off a rope (optional).

Meet around 6:15pm at the Cwmorthin car park here:

Everyone welcome!

Can we we do the slightly dodgy scramble and squeeze through the collapse bit just after the "person way" that leads to the Fluffy Draig tunnel, then cram as much in as possible? There's also a possible traverse (another one) from the personway with the steel cable. I think it's the second level up from where someone has rigged some steps from the bottom. Confused yet? I know where I mean...
Slighlty too enthusiastically.

To be honest, if I was you I'd just deregister from this site and consign your former hobby to the past. You need to let go.

Check the โ€œwormholeโ€ and let me know if anything more is needed to make it a safe route. Iโ€™m still in Eastern Europe but can bring some more scaf bits when I come home.

I think the big rock that should have dropped through then decided to tip horizontal as it went down and became a perfectly fitted plug is still in place. Daren't use bang to move it as there's too much unstable stuff above. The rock could be carefully chain drilled 3/4 way through then the holes filled with Dexpan or other non-explosive expansive demolition compound to gently crack it apart...

Nice too see everyone, it was a great turnout!

Rather to our surprise, the wormhole is wide open.
The guillotine slab is still poised but there's plenty of room to avoid touching it at all. We rigged a Y-hang with the intention of dropping through without touching the sides. It sort of works but still results in people stepping on some of the loose stuff. It's hard to see how that could be resolved without lots of scaff. The actual ab off our Y-hang is only about 2m making it the shortest pull-through in the world. :-[
The waterfall is still there, giving everyone a soaking.

Was a great trip, thanks for having me!

Really going to have to invest in a Stop now, those things are impressive!

Hope to see you all again.

good to hear it's still open, will have to come see it at some point.

Would be worth a bit of steel to hold open no?

Would be happy to donate some small RSJs...

That's kind of you Miles. First step is for someone with more engineering knowledge than me to look at it, shake their heads, mutter and hopefully come up with a plan.

Curious to know how the 'plug' released itself, when it flipped and blocked the wormhole that night, it seemed very firmly wedged and resisted all efforts of crow barring. We haven't had any earthquakes, odd that it seems to have freed itself... Did someone find that hidden cache of old bang and decide to see if it was still any good? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
