Ok a million apologies....running late again! :flowers:
Nice little abseil through trip at Bwlch y Plwm this week. We haven't done it for some time so my memory is a little sketchy but it's a good sporting trip with plenty to see. The head of the first pitch is a little "damp" but after that it dries out nicely!
Parking is a little restricted, so lets meet up in Garreg, here:

http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=52.954322&lon=-4.066815&z=19.1&r=0&src=msa

at around 1815. We can drive up to the mine from there in about five minutes and can car share if needs be?
Rough idea of numbers?

myself
Willy Eckerslyke
Blober
Pingu
Piglit
Lord Scoot
Zen
DonStuart
MHSaher

Any more?

Bring SRT kit and a change of clothes as there is a small waterfall at the head of the first pitch and its bound to be pouring down when we trek up the hill, wandering around in circles looking for the adit......that's what happened last time anyway!

Then afterwards I suppose it would be rude not to go for a swift half a mild in The Ring? Cool pub, nice beer. See you all there!
Yma O Hyd....

I'm lugging some 40 students through the field that day, with a certain Mr. Eckerslyke as one of my charming sidekicks. We should be done by 5 but one can never be sure of such things, so we could be a little late. (Blober, we might ask you to come to university (Main Arts), so we can trade all these students in for you at the end of the trip! Or disguise yourself as a 2nd year student and join; it'll be fun! Nobody will notice.)

@ Margot, David: I have a cunning plan which could save you some time. I'm working in Trearddur Bay this week so I can pick up Monsieur Blober en route in Holyhead? Does that help?

Phil. 🙂

It might save Blober some hanging around in a university building wondering when the #### we will finally show up! So yes I think a good idea...

I was having a look at the pics from Bwlch and it looks like that bit where Sinker and I clambered up and threw lots of loose rubble on everybody below was already explored by Thursdaynighters in 2008! There's a pic by SimonRL of some unidentified person right there. Either it's a Thursdaynighter or Simon was being promiscuous and went underground with other people. Not sure if I want to know what's up there though; would be fun to find out for ourselves on some later trip!

Its coming back to me slowly....we were talking about it over pizza last night!! SimonRL was a bit vague but I think that Llion went up to where we were but didn't go any further. I think it DOES go onwards and upwards but requires bolting/rigging?

@ Margot: I waved, beeped and flashed my lights on Caernarfon Road this morning but you snobbed me... 😉

I think a mere sling would have helped a lot; that nice peg we saw is a bit difficult to get to, and undoubtedly harder to get down from, but with a sling to hold on to it would be fine. And then the way up is clear I think. Who knows what miracles await us up there!
And oh dear. I must have been rather unobservant! Maybe dreaming of unexplored Bwlch passages!

Ok that's not Llion up there but I'm sure he did try it.
Any ideas who it was. 2008?? Pre "Thursday Nighters"
