Hi all,

A condition of the access agreement with the landowner, is that the entrance to Rhyd Alyn Mine must be kept ‘secure and locked’ when not in use.

A system of nominated key-holders is operated to ensure unrestricted access to the mine by clubs, individuals and organisations who are covered by the BCA insurance scheme.

Damage to the entrance and removal of locks in the recent past has risked the withdrawal of permission and possibly sealing of the entrance to the Mine by the landowner.

To comply with the agreement, a new lock will be in place from October 1st.

Please help to maintain access and other explorers’ enjoyment of this important site by obtaining a new key from the Secretary of the North Wales Caving Club;

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
