Looks like a decent route, I wouldn't fancy falling off onto those sharp slate tips mind.

Agreed. It also manages to avoid all the more interesting areas, inclines etc. So if it goes ahead, from this, it looks like it will have a pretty minimal impact on the quarry itself.

Assuming this is a commcercial venture then I guess if the company planning this is serious they've already approached First Hydro (if that's still who owns the power plant) about leasing the land.

The bike track at Llechwedd is proving to be hugely successful. Although that offers four tracks of varying difficulty.

More tourism can only be good for the area. One concern would be access though, hundreds of extra cars a week through Deiniolen might be unpopular? Or if something like Antur Stiniog is planned the carparking could be at the bottom of this road rather than at Dinorwic (bus stop quarry as its known locally).

For the uplift there is already a good tarmac road to the top of the proposed route so I suspect they would be keen to use that - the route up to Machlyn Mawr.

Or they might be proposing something much more low key.

Who knows!

Never thought of the financial/tourist spin off. Assuming Llechwedd is a commercial venture what sort of entry costs are involved?

Edit: Think I'll wade through this lot.
