I think this started out life as 'Slate House'?

The programme started on the BBC this evening and is available on iPlayer - http://www.bbc.co.uk/snowdonia1890/

There's a pretty comprehensive website with a lot to watch.

The slate scenes appear to have been filmed at Moel Tryfan - http://www.aditnow.co.uk/mines/Moel-Tryfan-Slate-Mine/  / albums http://www.aditnow.co.uk/album/Moel-Tryfan-Slate-Mine-User-Album/  & http://www.aditnow.co.uk/album/Moel-Tryfan-Slate-Mine-Archive-Album/

Good first episode, shows a lot of promise for the series

Original title was Snowdonia Farmhouse.

There was also an interesting programme last night "Making of Snowdonia 1890". It showed how they had to rebuild one cottage and bulid a second one over a scaffolding framework covered with plywood! To hold it down as the solid rock was only 6 inches below the surface the placed between inner and outer walls a numer of large containers full of water - total weight 4 tons!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
