While visiting Felin Fawr this afternoon I noticed that some cut slate blocks used in the buildings have cut/kerf marks more akin to a Hunter saw than a Greaves type.
Is it known if Penrhyn used Hunter saws at Felin Fawr?
Unfortunately the slate work appears to have been grit/sand blasted, damaging the definition the blocks would otherwise have.

Based on the survey of the site carried out in 2005 by the Plas Tan-y-Bwlch I.A. course the extension to northern end of the weatern of the two slab mill buildings at Felin Fawr was for a Hunter Saw. It is beleived that this was built circa 1887.

It is unusual to find Hunter Saws on the harder Cambrian rock and their scarcity musy point to their lack of success.
