DOn't know if this has been posted before, but came across it looking for something else - some really vintage shots of Dinorwic and Penrhyn locos doing their things- with some superb shots of the quarries as backdrop. Spot the working pit at Dinorwic, and the array of water balances at penrhyn!

I wonder is he has any black and white - colour was a bit iffy in 1961!

The photographer Ron Fisher (no relation) mentions in his index that he's working his way through 15,000 or so colour slides, and also has lots of b&w. He's active over on the Ffestiniog Railway yahoo group, and is still travelling and taking pictures. His 1960s work has been a very useful set of additions in a number of areas, Penryhn and Dinorwig included. Plus I think the pis lower down are the only colour photos I've ever seen of the Nantlle in operation. Somehow I'd always assumed the tractor was a fashionable grey...
