For those Cave averse there has also been a week arranged

to The Mines of Alston Moor – Nenthead

During the week before the Eurospeleo 2016 conference (i.e. between 6th and 13th August 2016), there is the opportunity to be led by volunteer mine exploration enthusiasts on a range of interesting underground and surface trips in the area.

It is envisaged that on each of six days in the area, there will be an option of four different trips – these will vary from trips of many hours duration requiring SRT and possibly wetsuits/neofleece's to a combination of shorter underground trips with surface exploration of the area. The trip options will include, on one day, a winch trip down Brewery Shaft (approximately 100m down to a complex water/compressed air power system used in the mines of this area).

Accommodation is at High Plains Activity Centre – this is bunkhouse accommodation with good facilities including a Lounge with television, video and DVD player, a Games room with a pool table and ample shower and drying facilities. There are good kitchen facilities and accommodation will be self-catering.

Please do feel free to add these events to the Events page:

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/admin/event.aspx?uid=0

I'm currently re-writing the events page to make it easier to use, and clearer that anybody is free to post events; and the events don't have to be specific for AditNow members - you are most welcome to use the page to promote any events, national, club or whatever :flowers:
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
