As the Cornish weather is doing what it does best we needed something dry to visit. Whilst walking round the gardens of the caverns we saw an adit only a couple of hundred yards from the entrance. The owners have it labelled as a tin mine.
Where I'm stopping has lousy internet access so the aditnow maps take an eternity to load on an android tablet so I'm unable to track it down. Does anyone have any info on it? Just out of curiosity as we're unlikely to be back this way for some time.

This adit is about 1-200 yards south of the entrance to the slate cavern on the same side of the valley approximately here

I recall seeing this, in the wooded area with lots of fairys :flowers:

I recall having a peer up it and it looked blocked after a few metres?

Contact the Plymouth Caving Group as I'm sure they have ventured into this adit and have a plan of it. Also, I think the owners of Carnglaze Caverns have a key for the locked gate if it's the one I'm thinking of.

There is another adit for a Tin Mine nearby which if I recall is something like 1,200 ft. long. That is gated, and Carnglaze hold the key. Contact Plymouth Caving Group as they have visited it some years back.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
