Tryphena lode at Pendarves was very wet but very rich too.
There was a drive headed toward Condurrow which would have de watered that mine and relieved some of the inflow.
As for working of Pendarves, the modern way would be to connect everything via underground drives back to Crofty, much the same as Wheal Jane did with Mount Wellington, and the further plan of linking the Wheal Maid decline, which would have opened up Wheal Squire, Ting Tang Wheal Jewel and others without a large surface presence. I could maybe see the odd electricity sub station to run vent fans on a few old shafts, but surface impact would be minimal.

Wheal Pendarves site again. Yes, a great deal of landscaping has been done on the site and is now nearly completed. However, the owners have kept strictly to the guidelines issued to them and the shaft is open for potential ventilation purposes. Looks like someone has been down the adjoining shaft on the edge of Pendarves woods. Was told along time ago that this was the shaft used to gain access for the original survey before the mine was opened, Sorry, can't remember the name of the shaft though.

They went in quite a few, looking at their plans. Wheal Bounty to the N, Killivose to the N of that, Tryphena to the east as well as Tolcarne.

Sadly, it appears that the Pendarves lot buggered things up by putting a massive concrete plug in the adit system at a 3 way junction.

A 303, a box of bang and a couple of good men...sort that out proper.
