Just have a cycle around the top of tresevean far corner of the elctricity sub station, I came across 2 shafts I had not seen before. one being a metre or so of raised cicle or collar with approx 6inch inverted vent pipe.
the other shaft , much more interesting , in the middle of a small pond. a raised concrete structure with veiwing cage at either side .Hard to see anything though, the camera flash came in usefull. This covers a large square shaped shaft, as far as I could see concrete lined to quite a depth. having to retarce my route to find my usual depth gauge ,"boulder"
Probably the deepest shaft I have come across seems vertical to quite a depth. I seem to remember that tresavean had the second deapest shaft in cornwall. could this be the one?
Any ifo appreciated

You are talking about William's Shaft on the main lode of tresavean. I think it's about 110m to water. Harvey's shaft was the deepest one on the mine at 395 Fathoms (I recall), that's down in the valley and if it wasn't capped, water would sit at about -145ft.

Get yourself on www.carbisbaycrew.co.uk and download the Hamilton Jenkin maps. Everything will make a lot more sense then!

No, 110m.

Chuck a boulder down there and listen to it. It's a long long way down. One of Cornwall's deeper shafts (as it is).

By the way, we are doing a digging project which is highly secretive, but we are in the Carharrack pub late on wednesday nights, if you want to have a yap. I lived in Fore Street for a while.

Certainly one of the deepest that I have bouldered. and most unusual
I thought it would be quite away to water being high up on the hill there.
how late is late at the pub ta Brian
