I have spotted on ebay , small 6 volt sealed lead acid batteries and chargers , I was thinking of using one with my old Oldham headset, has anybody else tried this ??, they are 4 amp hours , any idea how long this would last for ?? , I have the halogen bulb in the head set

Put 6 volts into a 4 volt bulb and you may well have a good camera flash!

The Oldham 4V bulb is probably OK up to 4.8V or whatever the Oldham battery comes fresh off charge at.
4 amp hours = 1amp bulb burns for 4 hours.
You would have to uprate your Oldham bulb to a 6 volt, and then expect your 4 hours

Its not worth messing about with lead acid batteries and bulbs these days, most will agree.

EDIT
There are Chinese LED mining lamps with battery and charger on eBay for as little as £35 or thereabouts, you better spending your money on one of those. They're probably a lot better than you would think.

They're not, its a falacy. Bulbs fail after a blow, LEDs dont. Lead acid battery terminals corrode and break off, and acid can leak onto SRT gear....Sayonara baby
