Hi,

Can anyone please help me locate a share certificate for Devon Great Consols, Im not too worried about which period, although an early one would be nice, having said that the price of said item will most likley put me off 😞

I was brought up on Devon Great Consols and still retain a strong connection and have always wondered about the availability of certificates etc.

Thanks in advance !

Cheers Rick....I thought as much...hence my comment on the possible prices if available :)

It has always amazed me how little remains with regard to photos etc of such a huge mining enterprise, that was at its height world famous for its mineral wealth. I also wish I had more photos from the days of my youth there....it looked quite different then ! Oh to be able to re-visit it in it's hayday !

Cheers

What we need is for someone to write a book about the mine.

I know someone who has the old pennies issued to the miners. Jealous is not the word for it

Photos probably do exist, its just locating them. Probably in someones loft or the back of a cupboard.

I know the feeling of having a big mining area and very little photographic evidence, I have tried finding par consols stuff and struggled.

That's not a DGC certificate its a New Great Consols certificate (if memory serves).
